  1. Personal Mail Conference

  3. Power-QWK defines a 'conference' as two files: one to hold
  4. messages downloaded from a particular conference in an Online
  5. Service such as Direct-Line, the other to contain an index to
  6. the messages in the first file.

  8. A conference is automatically created by Power-QWK whenever you
  9. download mail from a new (to Power-QWK) conference in an Online
  10. Service.

  12. These conferences contain ALL mail, whether Personal or Public,
  13. and, when reading a conference, you can elect either to read in
  14. chronological order or to read all Personal mail before all
  15. Public mail.

  17. However, you can also ask Power-QWK to set up a conference
  18. especially to receive all Personal mail. Such mail will still
  19. be applied to the conference of origin but will also be placed in
  20. your Personal Conference where it can be viewed more easily and
  21. can have pruning rules different to those of the main conferences.

  23. For instance, you might elect to discard all Public mail on a
  24. weekly basis but keep your Personal mail for some months or even
  25. for ever.

  27. If you elect to have a Personal Mail conference then you can also
  28. choose to have Personal messages automatically marked as read when
  29. you read General conferences. This avoids reading Personal mail
  30. twice (in the Personal conference and in the general conference
  31. of origin).
